PDO Threads

Do you suffer from drooping or sagging skin, fine lines or wrinkles, on your face and body and think the only solution is to go under the knife? Until recently, that was true. Skin resurfacing and injections can help temporarily relieve the signs of aging, but not everyone is willing to commit to invasive facial lifts. At Enrichment Skin Solutions in Brooklyn Park, MN, we proudly offer a less invasive alternative called PDO thread lifts.

A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to tighten and lift sagging skin in multiple areas of the face and body. The threads stimulate collagen production, resulting in tightened skin and immediate lifting effects. One of the major benefits of PDO thread lifts is that the procedure can be performed right in our Brooklyn Park clinic.

Precare & Aftercare Tips

While PDO thread lifts are a quick and painless process, there are a few steps you should take before and after the procedure, they include:

PDO Thread Lift Precare

You will want to take a few measures before your PDO thread lift appointment. Avoiding blood thinners, NSAIDS, and other anti-inflammatory medications for 2 to 4 weeks will prevent the chance of bleeding and render the process more effective. Staying hydrated and drinking at least 64 ounces of water the day before your appointment will help speed up the healing process and reduce the chance of bruising. You should also avoid alcohol, smoking, and skin exfoliating products for at least 7 days before the procedure to prevent irritation and redness.

PDO Thread Lift Aftercare

Though the process is virtually painless, you may experience bruising, itching, redness, soreness, and/or swelling lasting 2 to 5 days after your appointment. It is also common to experience a tingling sensation at the thread injection site. Applying an ice or cold compress to the area may help to reduce swelling. Avoid blood thinners, NSAIDs, and other anti-inflammatory medications to reduce the likelihood of bruising. Avoiding vigorous activity, sun and heat exposure, alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for three days after the procedure is also advisable for the healing process.

What Is A PDO Thread Lift?

A polydioxanone (PDO) thread lift uses FDA-approved dissolvable, temporary sutures to subtly but visibly lift the skin for remarkable results. The volumizing properties of PDO threads generate new collagen, allowing our team to lift the area for a more youthful appearance. PDO threads work to enhance your overall skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and provide more skin elasticity.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Though PDO threads are most commonly used to treat signs of aging in the face, they can also be placed in most areas of the body to rejuvenate your appearance, giving you a firmer and contoured look. Common areas of application include:

  • the jawline

  • chin

  • jowls

  • neck

  • nasolabial folds (smile lines)

  • crow's feet

  • under-eye area

Not only do PDO threads provide instant results, but they also improve with time, can last for years, and leave no scars. Best of all, they are a true injectable procedure and a wonderful alternative, or supplement, to more invasive surgical procedures as well as other skin rejuvenation treatments.

What Is The PDO Thread Lift Process?

First, you will meet with the Enrichment Skin Solutions team at our Brooklyn Park clinic to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. We will also use this time to discuss your areas of concern, the different sizes and contours of the threads, and what you can expect during the process.

Upon your appointment, PDO threads will be placed in the targeted skin areas in various patterns. Patterns include crosshatch, mesh, or scaffold and are placed just under the first layer of the skin. For PDO thread lift procedures performed on more delicate or sensitive areas, our practitioner may apply a topical and numbing medication.

The procedure takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Of course, there is no one size fits all to PDO thread lifts. The results of the procedure depend on the thickness of the thread, the quality of the threads, and your body’s metabolism. Most of our clients enjoy immediate results after just one treatment. Enrichment Skin Solutions recommends a follow-up visit one or two months after your initial treatment so we can determine if you require additional treatments. Results, on average, last between two and three years.

What Do PDO Thread Lifts Cost?

As the price of the process depends upon the number of PDO threads you require along with the area of the face or body to be treated, the final price will be determined during your initial consultation.
